May she rest in Peace
Featured in poet’s book ‘A-wake-(e)nd’ published by Saufo’i Press in 2023
she stands on our wall profile of another time looking to the future
her eyes seeing
all wealth of the common
common to the few
a world that is changing
a universe evolving
where the land is running away from the sea
the sea pushing the ocean to the sky
and the stars
giving hope to the forgotten
and the sun in its blinding light and heat ready to ascend the galaxy
her image a reflection of jubilee
upholding a crowned silhouette
with her white pearls sitting around her neck
the gentle line of her centre revealing the circles of her tree
why do i mourn you elisapeta? we are not blood
but bonded
by a past that is no longer the future
but you were always there
though i was not faithfu
